Doughnut Nails for the 'Glam Nails Challenge'

Hello and happy Monday!

This month I decided to try and take part in some of the nail challenges I always see on Instagram. I decided it a little bit late (oops!) so missed the first few designs. Anyway, I jumped on the third day which was tye die (you can see this one on my Instagram) and this one here is my design for the 4th day – doughnuts!

I used quite a few colours, all OPI:

You're So Outta Lime, I Just Can't Copeacabana

White: Alpine Snow
Pink: Kiss Me I'm Brazilian
Yellow: I Just Can't Copeacabana
Green: You're So Outta Lime
Brown: Going My Way or Norway

I used the dotting tool to make the general doughnut shape and add the 'icing'. I cleaned this up with the brush (an old eyeliner brush), then added the sprinkles with the tooth pick. Then cleaned all my cuticles up with the slanted brush.

These were actually easier to do than I thought, although I think they could be better with a bit of practice and maybe better tools!

Bumblebee Summer

Hi guys,

So today I was feeling in a summer mood. I have just come back from a long weekend in Budapest where the weather was heaven. Now I am back in England and it’s grey and overcast so I have been feeling desperately in need of something summery to lift my spirits again. Queue bright yellow bumblebee nails! Okay, so I’ll admit my bee drawing skills leave something to bee (bee, get it?!) desired but these still make me pretty happy.

This design was super easy to do. Just paint a pale yellow base and wait for it to dry. Make a darker yellow blob for the bee with a dotting tool. Use an old eyeliner brush to outline the bee, add in the black stipes, do the dots and write 'buzz'. And you're done!

What's your happy summer mani?
